Blockbuster DVD Rental Review
When you go on the blockbuster website, it gives you lots of information about their stores and any offers that are going on there which is great if you prefer to borrow dvds in a store, but the main focus of the website is their online dvd rental packages which allow you to borrow dvds regularly and have them posted to you, so there’s no need to live near to a blockbuster, or to leave the comfort of your own home.
Basically the idea is that you pay a monthly subscription fee and for that fee, you can rent between 1 and 5 dvd’s at a time, and when you’ve watched them, you return them, and they send you out your next batch of dvds.
There are 5 different types of rental package you can go for online and they are:
1 dvd limited - £4.99 – max of 2 dvds rental per month.
1 dvd package - £9.99 – unlimited number of dvd rentals per month
2 dvd package - £12.99 – unlimited number of dvd rentals per month
3 dvd package - £14.99 – unlimited number of dvd rentals per month
5 dvd package - £22.99 – unlimited number of dvd rentals per month
The 2 dvd package and the 3 dvd package each come with a 2 week free trial as well.
The way it works is that you build a list of all the dvd’s you’d like to borrow from them, and then they post out one – five dvds (depending on which package you choose), along with a pre-paid envelope so that when you’re done watching them, you can return them. When they receive them back, they then send you the next selection from your list, and you again watch and return them. Other than the first package, where you can only borrow a maximum of 2 dvds per month, the number of dvds you can borrow per month is limited only by how fast you can watch them and return them so they can send the next out.
There are no late fee’s with these packages, so you can keep the dvds for as long as you want to which might be 1 day, or it might be for a whole month. All dvd’s are sent first class. You must be 18+ to be able to sign up to this service, and you will need to pay by debit or credit card. (Even for the free trial you will need a debit or credit card, as you have to use it to validate your details, but can then cancel if you don’t want to continue when the trial is done, and they won’t debit your account).
The site is well laid out and they have a very wide variety of dvd’s available to borrow including all the latest movies virtually as soon as they become available.
